General safety advice
Public transport in Durban is not easy as there is no reliable public
train or bus service. Therefore the best way to get from your hotel
to the ICC Durban is to take a taxi or a shuttle.
It is advisable not to walk to your hotel or guest house from the
ICC Durban after 6pm in the evening – you should rather take a taxi
or a shuttle to your hotel.
If you are going to walk around Durban during the day, it is advisable
not to have cameras and wallets openly visible.
Transport from the airport
If you have booked a hotel package with Giltedge Travel a complimentary
hotel shuttle bus will transport you to your hotel.
If you have booked other accommodation, Giltedge Travel can assist
you in organising transport to your hotel or B&B, email
richard@gilt-edge.com to book your transport requirements.
Alternatively, you can arrange your own transport via a shuttle
(R70 per person) or a registered taxi.
Transport to networking evening events
Complimentary transport has been organised for all
Durban Wild Talk Africa delegates to
the social evening networking events, as outlined below:
Monday 27 August
The evening event is being held at Ushaka Marine World and starts
at 7.30 pm.
A coach service will transport guests between 6.45pm and 7.15pm
to the venue.
The coaches will depart Ushaka Marine World at 10pm, 11pm and the
final one at 12pm, and will depart from the same drop off point
as on arrival.
Tuesday 28 August - Afternoon
Delegates have the option of attending a cinema screening of an
acclaimed film in the afternoon with complimentary popcorn and refreshments.
Coaches will transport guests from the ICC Durban at 5.00pm –
5.30pm to the Sun Coast Casino for the screening.
Tuesday 28 August - Evening
The evening networking event is being held at the Sun Coast Casino,
and will be held in a marquee on the beachfront, which is is 2 minutes
walk from the cinema.
The coaches will depart the Sun Coast Casino at 10pm, 11pm and
the final one at 12pm, and will depart from the same drop off point
as on arrival.
Wednesday 29 August
The ROSCAR Awards evening event will be held at the Durban ICC.
A coach service will transport guests between 6.45pm and 7.15pm
to the venue.
The coaches will depart the ICC Durban to take guests back to their
hotels at 10pm, 11pm and the final one at 12pm, and will depart
from the same drop off point as on arrival.
Thursday 30 August
There will be no organised transport on the last day of the Festival.
