The Durban Wild Talk Africa goals are:
- To unite and promote the South African wildlife,
travel and culture filmmaking community as an industry focused on improving opportunities and output deals.
- To foster a wildlife, travel and culture filmmaking industry that is representative of and creates programming for the people of South Africa as well as international viewers.
- To reposition South Africa as the primary destination for discussion and conferencing on wildlife,
travel and culture filmmaking.
- To create an event in South Africa that is on par with international festivals of a similar focus, such as Wildscreen (UK) and Jackson Hole (USA).
- To promote the participation and development of historically disadvantaged people in the wildlife,
travel and culture film sector.
- To provide a forum for local and international filmmakers, commissioning editors, broadcasters and producers to develop new solutions for the issues facing our industry, with a focus on generating revenue and attracting new business.
