At Wild Talk Africa 2006, the ROSCAR, the bronze Rhino sculpture designed by Mark Coetzee of Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife was unveiled at a jubilant finale gala event. This year, in 2007, the ROSCAR Celebratory Awards will be awarded for the first time to filmmakers at a prestigious evening gala event which will be attended by delegates, special guest speakers and the media.

The ROSCAR Celebratory Awards are a celebration of natural history, eco-tourism and cultural filmmaking. The aim of the Awards is to applaud Filmmakers for their hard work and to maximise audience participation and enjoyment. Thus entries to the ROSCAR Celebratory Awards will be made as widely accessible to the public as part of a community outreach programme. The ROSCAR Celebratory Awards should not be seen as a competition whereby Filmmakers compete against each other, but instead a celebration of the contributions being made to the natural history, eco-tourism and cultural industry.
